![]() Wednesday, 13th Dec 2000 17:25 Bobby Robson looks likely to have a Portman Road statue dedicated to him alongside that of Sir Alf Ramsey. Town fans have long wanted tributes to the two men who more than most helped make Town the club it is (see TWTD letters pages over the last ten years) with statues and stand namings amongst the most popular ideas. The statue of Sir Alf, paid for by the Supporters' Club, was erected at the beginning of the season to much praise. Now the man who sculpted Sir Alf, Sean Hedges-Quinn is set to immortalise the current Newcastle boss. The project looks likely to be completed within eighteen months and may well be part of the new South Stand development.
