Town chairman David Sheepshanks has spoken about Morecambe's attempted Cup price-hike and the FA's ruling on the matter. Town took the issue to the FA after the two clubs failed to come to an agreement, Town suggesting that Morecambe's pricing suggestion of £25 a ticket was completely out of order. TWTD has learnt that the Lancastrians were none too happy with Town as they believed they had an agreement from the Blues over prices.

The FA has since acted and Town fans will now pay £15 for each of the 979 tickets available. Sheepshanks said: "I am pleased with the decision the Football Association have come to - we simply wanted to see supporters being charged a fair amount. We are not looking to make any major issue out of this and quite understand Morecambe wishing to maximise revenue however not to the unfair cost of our fans."

The Town chairman continued: "I ought to add [that] the suggestion in a national paper today that this is a ploy on our behalf to persuade Morecambe to switch the tie to Portman Road is utter nonsense. It is another long journey for players and fans alike but that is the luck of the draw. It is a big Cup tie for all concerned and we look forward to it."
