![]() Friday, 26th Aug 2005 09:35 TWTD understands that the club have banned a small number of North Stand fans from the Preston match on Monday for persistent standing. Town have written to the supporters, whose seats are close to the front of the stand, to inform them of their bans. As in previous years the club sent warnings regarding persistent standing with North Stand season tickets but this year appear to be paying more than lip service to the no standing rules introduced in the wake of the Taylor Report on the Hillsborough disaster. The Football Licensing Authority is the body charged with implementing stadium safety regulations and have previously threatened to close sections of grounds where clubs have failed to take action on standing.
