Boss Joe Royle has confirmed that Richard Naylor will start in the Town defence at Millwall on Saturday but says he could use him as a striker at some point during the game. Naylor was pushed up front in the second half of Tuesday's 2-0 home Carling Cup defeat to Yeovil Town.

Royle said: "Bam Bam will be at the back for us. I can't guarantee he will finish in that position, but he will certainly start in defence.

"I see Richard as a centre-half who can play up front in an emergency, rather than a centre-forward who is operating in defence.

"We still hope to have Sam available but even if he doesn't play, Bam Bam will be at the back. We need his experience there."

If Parkin fails to make it the Blues are likely to continue with the Bowditch-McDonald strike force.
