Liam Trotter scored the only goal as Town's reserves defeated Leicester 1-0 at Portman Road. The Blues thoroughly deserved their victory with the back four particularly impressive.

Trotter's winner came in the 20th minute from a Jimmy Juan pass. The Frenchman sent the midfielder through one-on-one with the keeper and the 17-year-old slipped the ball into the corner of the net.

James Krause was the pick of Town's young back four alongside Chris Casement at the heart of the defence with Sammy Moore and Scott Barron the full-backs.

Juan set-up another good chance late on for sub Billy Clarke but the Irishman's effort was well saved by the Foxes keeper.

The game also saw Scott Mitchell make his return to reserves action after his summer ankle operation.

Reserves: Supple, Moore, Barron, Juan, Casement, Krause, Peters (Clarke 60), Trotter (Mitchell 75), McDonald, Haynes (Knights 60), Craig. Not used: Lordan, Ainsley.
