![]() Thursday, 24th Nov 2005 12:07 Norwegian midfielder Vemund Brekke Skard underwent his groin operation on Wednesday. The 24-year-old recruit from Brumunddal says the operation went well. Skard had been suffering with a condition known as Gilmore's groin during the summer Norwegian season and had the surgery in London. The former trainee teacher says he hopes to return to Suffolk today: "The surgery seems to have been successful and I hope to go back to Ipswich on Thursday. "Hopefully, I'll be back at the training ground next week." Skard is expected to sign his 18-month contract with Town once he has returned to fitness before the end of December. Town are still to receive permission for the Norwegian to play prior to the January transfer window opening.
