![]() Thursday, 26th Jan 2006 12:09 Norwegian signing Vemund Brekke Skard says fans will probably have to wait until next season to see the best of him. The former Brumunddal player is continuing his comeback after a groin operation in November. The 24-year-old midfielder has made one reserve appearance since the surgery and would have played in Tuesday's game had the match not succumbed to the weather. The ex-student teacher told the club site that it is likely to take him a while to adjust to the speed of the game over here: "The reserve game was quicker than I thought it would be, certainly quicker than what I have been used to. "I didn't read the game as quickly as I hoped I would and the ball was moved around the pitch at a fast pace. "My fitness is getting there but not 100 per cent yet. I had a groin injury for a year and it has taken me longer than I thought to get over the operation. "My fitness will come though, and I hope to improve my football all the time, but I think it will be next season before I am playing at the highest level."
