Reserve Game Abandoned
Reserve Game Abandoned
Tuesday, 7th Feb 2006 21:27

Town's reserve game against Leicester City was abandoned in the 73rd minute after the floodlights at Hinckley United's Marston's Stadium failed. The Blues were behind 1-0 to a Max Gradel goal by that stage and the result may stand despite the game not being completed.

Icelandic keeper Óskar Pétursson and defender Jack Haverson made their reserve debuts, while strikers Billy Clarke and Darryl Knights continued their recoveries from their recent injury problems.

Adam Proudlock and Vemund Brekke Skard missed out after being struck down by the flu virus which prevented Shane Supple from taking his place in goal for the glorious East Anglian derby victory on Sunday. Striker Sam Parkin was also still absent but should be fit enough to play for the second string against Crystal Palace next week.

As more than an hour of the match had been played, Leicester are likely to be awarded the three points.

Town: Pétursson, Moore, Mitchell, Haverson, Ainsley, Peters, Lordan, Trotter, McDonald, Clarke, Knights. Subs: Fenn, Boto, Webster, Nimmo.
