![]() Friday, 26th May 2006 12:21 West Brom have revealed that they gave Town permission to speak to their assistant manager Nigel Pearson. However, we understand that the former Middlesbrough skipper is not on the shortlist. Amongst those set to have second interviews with chairman David Sheepshanks and chief executive Derek Bowden are Ian Holloway, Colin Calderwood and skipper Jim Magilton, a move which would see academy director Bryan Klug as director of football. Willie Donachie, assistant during Joe Royle's reign as boss, may also be in consideration, although appears to be very much an outsider. Town received more than 40 applications to succeed Joe Royle, some from abroad although we understand there are no overseas managers on the shortlist.
