![]() Saturday, 8th Jul 2006 22:50 Town manager Jim Magilton was pleased with his side's performance in their opening pre-season friendly at Boston. Midfielder Gavin Williams was singled out for praise by the former skipper. Magilton told the club site: "It was a good exercise for us and the first 45 minutes was very pleasing. "Gavin Williams did terrific in the middle of the park and I was really pleased with his all-round game. "Fozzie was busy up front, Jaime Peters and Dean Bowditch also did well and, although we switched off a little after the break, we still had enough chances to have scored four or five. "Credit to Boston though, their lads kept going until the end and had a right go." Town's next pre-season game is on Wednesday when the squad travels to the west of Ireland to take on Galway United.
