![]() Friday, 14th Jul 2006 10:44 Chairman David Sheepshanks has been re-elected to the Football Association board as one of two Football League representatives. Last month Sheepshanks retained his position on the Football League's board. Joining Sheepshanks at the FA for the first time is Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney. A change in Football League policy was required to allow Mawhinney to stand for election rather than a club chairman, Colchester's Peter Heard having held the position on behalf of lower league clubs until the U's were promoted to the Championship. Mawhinney is expected to push for the job of FA chairman 2008 as the Football League seeks to increase its influence within the game's governing body.
