Released Blues midfielder Billy Clark has joined Ryman League Premier Division side Bury Town while he looks for a new professional club. The 19-year-old former academy scholar has spent time on trial with Sheffield United, Gillingham and Luton since leaving Portman Road at the end of last season when he infamously reacted angrily to the decision on Twitter.

Right-back Carlos Edwards has apologised for his conduct having been given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months this morning having pleaded guilty to charges of driving while disqualified and without insurance on Monday. The Trinidad and Tobago international was also handed a £2,500 fine, a further 18-month driving ban, 200 hours of community service and was ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £15 victim surcharge at South Suffolk Magistrates' Court.

Town boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that the Blues paid only £1 million for striker Michael Chopra during the close season. After the former Cardiff man recently netted his third and fourth goals of the campaign against Brighton various national newspapers claimed Town had spent as much as £3 million on the 27-year-old, while previous reports had indicated that the ex-Newcastle and Sunderland man had cost a fee of £1.5 million.
