Academy striker Paul Murphy has been called up to the Republic of Ireland U16 squad for two friendlies in France later this month. Murphy scored in the U16 side's last outing, a 2-2 draw in Croatia.

Former Blue David Johnson has announced his retirement from football due to a back injury. The Nottingham Forest striker, now 30, underwent surgery for the disc problem at the end of last year but has failed to regain full fitness and has been advised to hang up his boots.
