Town have announced a pre-season friendly at Southend on Wednesday 22nd July (KO 7.45pm). The Blues were last at Roots Hall in the Championship in October 2006 when goals from Billy Clarke, Sylvain Legwinski and Alan Lee secured a 3-1 win.

Town will play a pre-season friendly at Brentford's Griffin Park on Wednesday 15th July. The Blues have a close relationship with the League Two champions, having sent Dean Bowditch, Jordan Rhodes and Billy Clarke on loan there during 2008/09.

Heart have confirmed that they will continue to broadcast live commentary on Town's home and away games next season. The radio station, formerly SGR FM, signed a three-year deal last summer, but a report a few months ago claimed that they would be pulling out for 2009/10.

Celtic's Bobo Balde is the latest player said to have been the reason for Roy Keane's trip to watch his former club beat Dundee United 2-1 at Parkhead on Tuesday. The Guinean wasn't involved in the match but is claimed to have met the Blues boss.
