Blues' boss Joe Royle has put his search for a loan striker on hold now that Darren Bent and Alun Armstrong have got themselves amongst the goals. Royle had been keen to add a loanee to his strike force with bids for Duncan Ferguson and Geoff Horsfield both failing in the last couple of weeks.

Town boss Joe Royle felt his side well and truly deserved their 2-1 win against Walsall on Tuesday night. The Blues' boss also had words of praise for Alan Mahon, Jim Magilton and the Portman Road crowd.

Much-improved Town notched their first win of the season as Walsall were beaten 2-1 at Portman Road. A penalty from Alun Armstrong put the Blues ahead before Gary Birch equalised. Darren Bent's second half header won the day with impressive Walsall keeper Jimmy Walker preventing further goals.

Town boss Joe Royle has confirmed that Luton Town are showing an interest in keeper Andy Marshall. He has also confirmed that the custodian turned down a loan switch to Plymouth Argyle.
