TWTD understands that former Blues coach Bryan Klug is being lined-up for a return to Portman Road. Stalwart Klug was controversially axed by former boss Roy Keane in January 2010 and is currently the assistant director and head of player development at Tottenham’s Academy.

Striker Michael Chopra apologised to Cardiff fans in case his goal celebration during the Blues’ 3-0 victory over the Bluebirds at Portman Road yesterday had offended them. The one-time Cardiff frontman had said he wouldn’t celebrate — as he hadn’t earlier in the season when he scored in the fixture in Wales — but said emotion overtook him when he netted his fifth goal in four games and his 12th of the campaign.

Town boss Paul Jewell was delighted with his side’s 3-0 home victory over Cardiff City, although he admitted he thought keeper Arran Lee-Barrett was going to be red-carded for his early foul on Bluebirds striker Joe Mason. The win was Town’s fourth in a row and their sixth in seven games against Cardiff.

Lee Martin’s first Town brace and Michael Chopra’s perhaps inevitable goal against his old club saw the Blues to a 3-0 victory over Cardiff at Portman Road and to four wins on the trot for the first time since November 2004. Martin put Town in front in the first half from Daryl Murphy’s cutback, Chopra converting Carlos Edwards’s cross just after the break and Martin added the third when he made the most of a defensive lapse.
