Out-of-contract trio Fabian Wilnis, Tommy Miller and Shefki Kuqi have all said they are keen to extend their stays at Portman Road. Skipper Jim Magilton and Guinean international Drissa Diallo also see their current deals finish at the end of June.

Spanish striker Pablo Couñago says he wants to remain with the Blues after his lucrative contract signed during Town's Premiership days is up at the end of June. Couñago, who has been out of favour for most of this season, says he is not concerned that he would have to take a massive pay-cut to remain at the club.

Chief Executive Derek Bowden says the Blues will not be forced into making sales over the summer, despite failing to reach the Premiership for the third year in succession. A number of Town players have already been linked with moves to the Premiership during the close season.

Winger Jaime Peters played the full 90 minutes for Canada's U20s as they were defeated 2-1 by the United States in Blaine, Minnesota. Peters, who turned 18 on May 4th, will officially sign for the Blues when he returns from Canada duties for pre-season training.

Keeper Kelvin Davis says that Town's season has been better than expected, despite yet another defeat in the play-offs. Davis, who many are tipping to be a Premiership target this summer, finished second behind Shefki Kuqi in the Supporters' Club Player of the Year poll.

Boss Joe Royle conceded that West Ham had been the better side on the night as the Blues went out of the play-offs at the semi-final stage for the sixth time in seven attempts. Royle was particularly impressed with Hammers' strikers Marlon Harewood and Bobby Zamora.

Town once again experienced play-off woe with West Ham winning the second leg of the semi-final 2-0 at Portman Road and the tie 4-2 overall. The Hammers created the better chances and two goals in eleven second half minutes just after the hour from Bobby Zamora took the Londoners to the final.
