Sunday's tabloids report that Coventry City are targeting Darren Currie to replace departed Gary McSheffrey. The Sky Blues brought in £4 million from the sale of the winger to Birmingham last week. Meanwhile, Town are being linked with most of the Crystal Palace squad.

Preston chairman Derek Shaw says that Town striker Sam Parkin is in no hurry to make a decision on his future. The Blues have accepted £300,000 bids from the Lilywhites and Luton Town for the former Swindon frontman.

Town president Sir Bobby Robson will undergo surgery to remove a brain tumour on Wednesday. The tumour was revealed by tests after the former England boss was taken ill at the Blues' opening day of the season game with Crystal Palace.
