Former Town striker David Johnson is feeling the weight of his £3 million tag hanging round his neck. The Forest striker has scored just two goals in fifteen games since his move from the Blues in January and feels that Town asked to much for him when he moved.

Town striker Richard Naylor has thanked TWTD and readers for the messages of good will he received duing his recent run of bad news. Naylor was hit by a double blow of recurring injuries and medical problems for his newborn child, Jessica.

Richard Wright will be back in training tomorrow, but George Burley insists he will not be pushed too quickly. The Town keeper missed out against Coventry with a back injury, but has been improving all week.

TWTD has learnt that Moroccan international defender Gharib Amzine may be about to come on trial at Town. The Strasbourg player was linked to Town in January and apparently had a trial arranged with the Blues which was scuppered by an injury with the player keen to impress Town and the club interested in the player.

John Scales has told TWTD that he will definitely be leaving Town at the end of the season. Scales joined on a free from Tottenham at the beginning of the season but has had a bad time of it with injuries.

Jamie Clapham has said he has hit the lowest point of his Town career after losing his place in the first team and dropping to the reserves. At the beginning of the season there was much talk of him as a possible England international, but things are now very different.

A freekick from Sean Friars late on saw Town beat the FA Premiership Reserve League (Southern Section) leaders Derby. The Rams had gone ahead in the first half, but Town struck back through Logan. Friars curler sealed it.
North Stand Receives Consent Wed 25th Apr 2001 12:57
Town's plans for the North Stand have this morning received consent from Ipswich Borough Council. There are conditions, such as the setting up of a Green Travel Policy and buying the nearest house to the development but these are not likely to hold the work up.
