Town's reserves defeated Leiston 2-0 in a game to celebrate 125 years of the Ridgeons League club. Sam Parkin got back to goalscoring action but later missed a penalty, academy striker Kieran Leabon grabbing the second.

Released academy midfielder or defender Stuart Ainsley played for Colchester's reserves yesterday as they drew 1-1 with the MK Dons. TWTD reported the 18-year-old's initial trial spell with the U's earlier in the month.

Boss Joe Royle has confirmed that departing loanee Jimmy Juan will play no role at Plymouth on Sunday, as reported by TWTD yesterday. The Town manager has also admitted that finance played some role in the decision not to keep the Monaco player at Portman Road.

Defender Jason De Vos was named the Town Players' Player of the Year at the club's award dinner at the Elizabeth Hotel, Copdock on Tuesday evening. De Vos fought off Supporters Club Player of the Year Fabian Wilnis and Boxholders' top man Richard Naylor to carry off the award voted on by his team-mates.

Boss Joe Royle has decided against trying to sign on-loan midfielder Jimmy Juan on a permanent basis. Juan has been with the Blues since January 2005 with the Town manager previously stating that he would try to sign the Monaco man over the summer.
