Boss Joe Royle has confirmed the club will be appealing against Richard Naylor's red card at Millwall. The Town manager says he was confident his side would beat the Lions even after referee Mark Halsey had given Naylor his marching orders for denying Barry Hayles an obvious goalscoring opportunity.

Ten-man Town racked up their first away win of the season as they defeated Millwall 2-1 at the Den. Darren Currie put the Blues ahead in the first half but Ben May hit back for the home side prior to Richard Naylor's sending off, but Sam Parkin headed the winner with 10 minutes remaining.

Boss Joe Royle has confirmed that Richard Naylor will start in the Town defence at Millwall on Saturday but says he could use him as a striker at some point during the game. Naylor was pushed up front in the second half of Tuesday's 2-0 home Carling Cup defeat to Yeovil Town.

TWTD understands that the club have banned a small number of North Stand fans from the Preston match on Monday for persistent standing. Town have written to the supporters, whose seats are close to the front of the stand, to inform them of their bans.
