Former Town striker Alex Mathie looks like he will join the legion of Town old boys at Colchester. Mathie was released by Dundee United today and if no other club comes in for him seems set to move to Layer Road. Colchester manager Steve Whitton said: "I've spoken to Alex recently, but I was waiting for him to be released" |

Town eventually ran out winners in probably the most bizarre game I have ever seen. The game had everything: goals, red cards, bad refereeing, time-wasting of an Olympic standard, a missed penalty and pretty much everything else you can think of. |

Former Town man Alex Mathie is the latest former Town man being linked with Colchester United. Mathie, who memorably scored a hat-trick in Town's superb 5-0 demolition of Nationwide League Division One side Norwich City three years ago, never really settled with his subsequent club Dundee United and now seems destined to join a host of old comrades. |

Town's home match with Spurs on December 30th has been switched to a 12-noon kick-off for showing on Sky TV. It will be Town's second Sky game of the season, the first being the away game at Coventry on November 18th. |
