Wright Place at the Right TimeThu 04th May 2000 14:12 Kevin Keegan has named Richard Wright in his trio of keepers to go to Euro 2000, a major boost to the Town net-minder ahead of Sunday's crucial game with Walsall.
Stewart Declares Himself FitThu 04th May 2000 11:26 Town's record signing Marcus Stewart has declared himself fit for Sunday's more than slightly important game with Walsall. The serially injured striker says he can't wait for what he sees as the biggest game of his career. Stewart previously played for Bristol Rovers in a Wembley play-off final against the club he later joined Huddersfield, but sees Sunday's march as the bigger of the two. His dead-leg sustained on Saturday at the Valley is now OK and he is back in training.
Stewart and Venus Main WorriesWed 03rd May 2000 14:17 Marcus Stewart and Mark Venus are Town's main worries ahead of Sunday's crucial game with Walsall. The Town record signing is still feeling the dead-leg he received on Saturday and is still not training, but he is expected to be fit for Sunday. Venus is still having trouble with his right ankle, an injury which has affected him ever since pre-season and he will have an operation on it in the summer. Manu Thetis is also still concerned about his back injury sustained in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. He is likely to take a place on the subs' bench unless Venus misses out. His situation should become clearer as the week progresses.
