Town have announced that the new North Stand will definitely be built. The board made the final decision last week and in twelve months time Portman Road will have a capacity of 30,000, the level thought to be the minimum a Premiership side should have to exist comfortably. |

Fabian Wilnis has said he will fight for his first team place. The Dutchman looks the obvious candidate to miss out now that George Burley has signed Chris Makin, like Wilnis primarily a right-back. Town manager George Burley told Wilnis he was about to bring in another defender so Makin's arrival was no surprise to the Dutchman. |

Richard Naylor's newborn daughter Jessica has been allowed to leave hospital after having a number of heart tests. The baby was born with heart problems when last week and was taken to Guy's in London for treatment. |
Charlton Game to Move Wed 07th Mar 2001 16:51
We're hearing that Town's away game with Charlton on April 28th is set to be moved to Monday 30th April with an 8pm kick-off so it can be covered by Sky. Apparently police are yet to give the game the go-ahead, but given the period between now and then we can't see that there would be a problem. |
