Yanks on Way Wed 08th Nov 2000 17:38 Bobby Convey and Antonio Otero, the two young Americans sent over by Frank Yallop, will be arriving in Britain tomorrow. They are joining Town for a short training spell. The players, both midfielders, play for Yallop's side DC United. |
We're All Going on a Intertoto Tour Wed 08th Nov 2000 11:22 Town's current standing at the top of the Fair Play League may lead to an early start to 2000/01. Should Town win the Fair Play League they will be invited to enter the Intertoto Cup which can begin as early as June. Last year Bradford and Aston Villa entered the trophy which can lead to UEFA Cup entry. So far Town have received just eight bookings this season with John McGreal the greatest individual transgressor with just two bookings. There have been no players sent off so far this year. |
Magilton All Clear Tue 07th Nov 2000 13:24 Midfielder Jim Magilton has been given the all-clear to go on playing after an X-ray on his recurrent ankle injury. The X-ray's results showed no damage to the bone and therefore that the injury is none too serious. Magilton should now be able to take his place in the side which meets Charlton at Portman Road on Saturday. |

Friars Off Tue 07th Nov 2000 11:30 Sean Friars may be on his way back to his native Northern Ireland for a loan spell with Derry City. Their manager Kevin Mahon is negotiating with Town to try to bring Friars to his hometown club. Last season Friars spent an abortive spell with Derry club when he spent the whole time injured. The Derry manager is also looking to bring in Perry Taylor from Tranmere. |
