Hutchings: U21s Will Take Years to Build Thu 23rd Aug 2012 06:00
Assistant manager Chris Hutchings says it’ll take clubs of Town’s size three or four years to build a squad capable of comfortably fulfilling all their U21 and U18 fixtures. The Blues lost 2-1 to Swansea in their first U21 Professional Development League Two — South game on Monday with several of the team having been in the U18 side which beat the same opposition 4-1 on Saturday.

Town manager Paul Jewell has revealed that Derby accepted an offer from the Blues for Steve Davies before the striker agreed to join Bristol City on Monday. The Robins are believed to have paid the Rams £750,000 for the 24-year-old with Town likely to have matched that figure having spent months in negotiation with the Midlands club.
