Blues boss Mick McCarthy believes there’s feeling of optimism around Portman Road after Town’s impressive second half of the 2012/13 campaign. The Blues would have been sixth in a Championship table which started on November 1st, the day McCarthy took charge.

Town striker Paul Taylor was given a 24-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months at Ipswich Crown Court this afternoon, having previously pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm relating to an incident at the Robert Ransome pub in October last year.
