The 30-year-old could be surplus to requirements at the Galpharm Stadium with the Terriers having completed the signing of Cardiff's Anthony Gerrard, a player who was mentioned in connection with the Blues earlier in the summer.

Town’s long-serving stadium and facilities manager Trevor Kirton retires today after 32 years working at Portman Road in various roles. Kirton, who has also been the Blues’ kit manager and coach driver, is a guest on Saturday’s Life’s a Pitch on Radio Suffolk (midday-2pm).

Midfielder Andy Drury has been ruled out of the Blues’ final pre-season friendly at Colchester on Wednesday due to the calf problem he suffered at Southend last Tuesday (KO 7.45pm). The 28-year-old missed Saturday’s 3-1 victory over West Ham due to the injury.

Reports on Sunday claimed the Blues were looking to offload the 33-year-old, who failed to make a first team appearance during two years at Upton Park at the start of his career.

Assistant boss Chris Hutchings was delighted with several aspects of the Blues’ performance as the defeated West Ham 3-1 at Portman Road on Saturday. Michael Chopra (pen), Luke Chambers and Jason Scotland netted for the Blues with Matt Taylor grabbing one for the Hammers.
