Skipper Gareth McAuley says he is looking for a strong start from Town when the new season gets under way at Coventry City on August 8th. The Northern Irishman comes up against his old club Leicester City when the Blues play their first home game a week later.

Town will start the 2009/10 season as they ended the 2008/09 campaign – with a game against Coventry City. However, rather than repeating the final day match at Portman Road, the Blues are off to the Ricoh Arena on August 8th.

Town will play a friendly with Waterford United on Friday 17th July (KO 8pm). The game at the League of Ireland side's RSC ground replaces the previously planned fixture at Limerick.

Town are close to confirming a friendly at Chelmsford City on Wednesday 29th July. The clubs have provisionally agreed to play the game at the Blue Square South side's Melbourne Stadium.
