Out-of-favour midfielder Owen Garvan has been named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for two European Championship qualifiers next month. Garvan, who has previously won 11 caps at U21 level, captained the side in their recent 1-1 draw in Estonia.

Central defender Gareth McAuley could return to the Town line-up when the Blues travel to Sheffield United tonight still looking for their first league victory of the season. Town are definitely without skipper Alex Bruce, who injured his groin during Saturday’s defeat to Newcastle United.
