Owen Garvan says he is pleased to be back in action but says he still has a way to go before he is ready to return to the senior side. The 18-year-old has been out of action since picking up shingles in pre-season and subsequently being laid low with post-viral syndrome.

Midfielder Owen Garvan played 67 minutes as Town's reserves defeated Norwich 3-0 in the second string derby at Playford Road. Derby goal specialist Danny Haynes netted twice, once from the spot, and Darryl Knights added his seventh in his last four competitive reserve games.

The Irishman is only likely to play some of the game as he continues his recovery from his post-viral syndrome, as he did in last week's 1-1 friendly draw with Colchester United.

A last gasp Chris McCann goal gave Burnley a 1-0 victory over the Blues at Turf Moor. Town were unlucky not to leave Lancashire with a point having dominated the game in spells, unmarked McCann heading in an Alan Mahon corner as the game entered injury time.
