Town's disappointing 2005/06 came to a close with a 2-1 defeat at Plymouth and ended the season in 15th position, their lowest finish since 1965/66. Nicky Forster put the Blues ahead but the Pilgrims struck back through Tony Capaldi and then grabbed a second half winner via Micky Evans.

Boss Joe Royle says that Jay McEveley could still become a permanent addition to his squad over the summer. It had appeared that interest in the season-long loanee from Blackburn had cooled with the club's financial position making a deal impossible.

Jaime Peters will make his first start since September when the Blues travel to Plymouth for the final game of the season on Sunday (KO 1.30pm). Youngsters Liam Trotter and James Krause are also included in a squad hit by injuries, while Sam Parkin could be on the bench.

Town have confirmed that there will be a memorial service in tribute to former manager John Lyall on Friday, May 5th at 2pm at St Mary-Le-Tower Church, Tower Street. Lyall, 66, died of a heart attack at his Tattingstone home last Tuesday.
