Keeper Lewis Price says a move away from Portman Road at this stage of his career would hurt his international ambitions. A report yesterday claimed that Wigan, known to be keen to sign a keeper in January, have been keeping an eye on the 21-year-old glove-wearer.

Robbert Schilder is reported to have been the main interest when Joe Royle and chief scout Colin Suggett watched a young Ajax second string side play a similarly youthful FC Twente team earlier in the week. Schilder scored both goals as Ajax won 2-0.

On-trial Danish striker Sammy Youssouf has left Portman Road after his trial. The 29-year-old has returned to his Portuguese club Marítimo but Joe Royle is not ruling out signing the former Fremad Amager, Hvidovre IF, St Johnstone, AB Copenhagen and RBC Roosendaal man.
