Defender Thomas Gaardsøe is set to complete his switch to West Bromwich Albion today after agreeing terms yesterday evening. The £500,000 transfer of the Danish U21 has caused outrage amongst the Town support, unhappy at yet another popular name exiting Portman Road.

Town fans have reacted angrily to reports which claim the Thomas Gaardsøe fee is as little as £500,000. While it is understood there will be further clauses on appearances and a percentage of any sell-on, the actual fee is a lot lower than many were expecting for the 23-year-old Danish U21 international.
