Town Physio Dave Williams has said that Richard Wright has every chance of being fit for Monday's match at Charlton. The Town keeper failed to make it through the warm-up before Saturday's game with Coventry. He found diving painful and Keith Branagan stood in for him and did well.

The U17s thrashed Millwall's youngsters 7-0 at the weekend. Town were five-up at the break and added two more in the second period. Goals came from Darren Bent, a hat-trick, Matt Bloomfield, Steve Burton, Guy Bonwick and Robert Dickinson.

Town manager George Burley has moved quickly to deny weekend newspaper reports which say he is in the frame to be the next manager of Rangers. The Town boss is likely to have to fend off reports like this on a regular basis after taking Town into Europe, and possibly the Champions' League.

Town's new North Stand is close to receiving planning permission from the council. Council officers last night recommended approval for Town's plans which are to be discussed on Wednesday.

Coventry City have denied Town's claim that they have returned 300 tickets for tomorrow's game. Town announced yesterday that 300 seats had been returned by the Midlands club in Block E of the Cobbold Stand, an area usually set aside for away supporters after the Sky Blues had originally asked for the full allocation.

Town have anounced that the remaining tickets for the Coventry game will go on general sale tomorrow morning. Town had 1200 available to Ballot Members this morning, but they still have some left.

Town striker Marcus Stewart has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year Award. Stewart, along with Teddy Sheringham, Ryan Giggs, Emile Heskey, Roy Keane and Thierry Henry, will face the vote from their fellow professionals.

Tranmere's Jason Koumas is once again being linked with a move to Town. Throughout the season Koumas has been one of a number of names mentioned in connection with Town and the latest report suggests that Town may offer £3 million for the midfielder in the summer.
