Richard Wright has asked for 24 hours to consider whether to move to Everton after agreeing terms ay Goodison Park. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged Wright to remain at Highbury, and has perhaps given the keeper something to think about.

Young defender Lee Beevers won a Welsh U19 cap last night at the Northern Ireland Milk Cup Youth Tournament. Beevers played the full 90 minutes as the Welsh lost 2-1 to Paraguay, the second South American goal coming in injury time.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks has reiterated that the Blues need to find cash to fill the financial hole created by relegation. Early estimates suggested that the Blues would have to find a shortfall of £15 million, although that figure has been reduced with the summer's moves so far.
