Town's UEFA Cup opponents FK Sartid fell to a 3-2 defeat against Partizan Belgrade on Saturday. The top of the table side were three-up at half-time with Sartid getting two late goals.

Town fell to another defeat as Horatio Carbonari returned to action after a seven month absence with the crucial goal just before half-time. Controversial referee Keith Hill, keeper Andy Marshall and Hermann Hreidarsson all had fingers pointed at them as the unmarked Argentinian tapped home from a yard or so out from a freekick which the keeper had failed to claim.

The FAI have confirmed to TWTD that the Ireland squad would be required to report for their match against Switzerland on Sunday October 12th, meaning that Matt Holland would be available for the Sheffield Wednesday game the day before. The Irish face the Swiss on October 16th.

Police are investigating an attack on the statue of Sir Bobby Robson in Portman Road. The statue of the former Town manager had paint thrown over it in last night's incident.
