Stewart to Start Sat 17th Aug 2002 11:48 Thursday's goalscoring hero Marcus Stewart is set to start tomorrow's home match with Leicester (KO 3pm). The striker was angry after being left out of the side playing Walsall last week, but this does not worry George Burley unduly. |
Another Sky Game Sat 17th Aug 2002 11:46 Sky have announced that 400,000 people watched Town's opening league game of the season against Walsall last week and that another Town game will be covered live. |

Zines on Sale v Leicester Fri 16th Aug 2002 11:18 For the start of the 2002-2003 season, we have not one but TWO fanzines out on sale for the Leicester game. The second is the European Tour Diaries 2001-2002 full of your photos and recollections of your trips to Russia, Sweden and Italy. |
Phil's Luxembourg Diary 2 Fri 16th Aug 2002 10:11 Much like a previous Euro-trip the football turned out to be the lowlight of the whole visit. Read the match report if you want to find out what we had to endure, a 1-0 win which left fans in a mood more like that after a loss. |
No New Injuries Fri 16th Aug 2002 09:57 Town manager George Burley will be pleased that his first UEFA match this season has resulted in no new injuries going into Sunday's game against Leicester. While two wins and two clean sheets in this campaign is a good start, Burley was not totally happy with the result last night "We did not play our best but Beggen made life very difficult for us. We would like to have got an early goal but that didn't happen." |
Avenir Beggen 0-1 Town Thu 15th Aug 2002 23:25 Town eventually ran out 1-0 winners in Luxembourg after making heavy weather of their UEFA Cup qualifying round first leg against part-timers Avenir Beggen. A last gasp Marcus Stewart goal, perhaps the only moment of quality in a dire game, gave the Blues a lead to take into the home leg. |
Phil's Luxembourg Diary I Thu 15th Aug 2002 16:26 Pleasant seems to be about the right word to describe Luxembourg City. It's not one of the world's socially wild capital cities, and also not one where you're constantly pointing out historic site after historic site, but a nice enough place to spend a few days. Especially in the stunning weather we've had since we got here. |
Avenir Beggen Preview Thu 15th Aug 2002 11:18 Town manager George Burley will be hoping to buck the trend this evening against FC Avenir Beggen, for every time we played an away fixture in the UEFA Cup last year, we lost the following game on our return to league action. As Town are widely tipped to make easy work of this qualifying game, George Burley may make a few changes and opt to rest a couple of first team players ahead of Sunday's important home game against Leicester. |
