Town will next year be playing in the FA Barclaycard Premiership, after the FA agreed a new sponsorship deal. The current deal with Carling expires in the summer after its 3 year deal worth £36million. The new deal is worth £48 million for another 3 years, and was approved by a unanimous vote from the Premiership clubs.

Forest defender David Prutton is being linked with a summer move to Town. The young Hull-born defender was first mentioned in connection with Town at the time of the David Johnson transfer, but David Platt said he was not for sale.

Season ticket renewal forms will begin going out today after a short delay. They were originally meant to have arrived with fans last week for return by May 15th. Forms now have to be returned to the club by May 21st.

Town's shirt sponsors Greene King have anounced that they will no longer be the name worn by Blues players. The Bury-based brewery offered Town a £2.5 million deal, but Town have negotiated a deal for a larger amount with another company.
Stewart Fails to Win Award Mon 30th Apr 2001 10:13
Marcus Stewart last night failed to emulate John Wark as a PFA Award winner when Teddy Sheringham carried off the prize. Stewart failed even to make the divisional XI with Thierry Henry and Sheringham the chosen strikers. Wark won the award in 1981, the last time a Town player was nominated.

London-based Blues who are not going to Monday's game with Charlton can watch the match along with fellow Town fans at Highbury's Gunners pub. Landlord Rob Sturges is a Town supporter, seemingly besieged by Gooners, and is laying nibbles as well as showing the game on a big screen.
Wright Likely to Be Back Sat 28th Apr 2001 11:37
Richard Wright came through a morning training session yesterday without any problems with his back. Wright missed last week's game against Coventry after feeling back pain in the warm-up.

The new North Stand received planning permission this week from Ipswich Borough Council. Town have had a model produced to illustrate how the new stand, and the ground as a whole, will look when it is finished.
