Amir Karic has returned early from his spell at Crystal Palace after failing to impress at the London club. The piece written by a Palace fan we posted a couple of days ago suggsted he was having a bad time of it and Alan Smith has decided enough is enough. |

Sent off Town striker Marcus Stewart has commented on referee Peter Jones's decision to give him a red card on Saturday. The Premiership's top scorer said: "I barely touched the lad. He went about 50ft up in the air and it looked as if someone much bigger than me had tackled him." |

Town's youths proceeded to round four of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-2 win over Leicester. In truth it should have been more confortable, but Town made heavy weather against a side who were clearly inferior. |

Town continue to await Alun Armstrong's decision on whether he becomes a Town player. The Middlesbrough man returned to the North-East yesterday to discuss the move with his wife. Prior to this he had passed a medical and the Blues had even called a press conference for 3pm. However, the former Stockport man needed more time and is currently mulling Town's offer over. |
Stewart and Venus Main Worries Wed 03rd May 2000 14:17
Marcus Stewart and Mark Venus are Town's main worries ahead of Sunday's crucial game with Walsall. The Town record signing is still feeling the dead-leg he received on Saturday and is still not training, but he is expected to be fit for Sunday. Venus is still having trouble with his right ankle, an injury which has affected him ever since pre-season and he will have an operation on it in the summer. Manu Thetis is also still concerned about his back injury sustained in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. He is likely to take a place on the subs' bench unless Venus misses out. His situation should become clearer as the week progresses. |
