Midfielder Owen Garvan will miss Saturday's season opener with Crystal Palace after a blood test showed he is not yet over his recent bout of shingles. Better news is that Gavin Williams is likely to be fit after suffering tendinitis and groin problems during pre-season.

Owen Garvan, Gavin Williams and Alan Lee are all back in full training after missing the pre-season tour of Holland and Belgium. Garvan has been out with shingles and tendinitis, the latter a problem which has also beset Williams, while Lee underwent surgery for a groin injury in the summer.

Striker Sam Parkin is back in the starting line-up for Town's final game of the pre-season tour at FC Dordrecht this evening (KO 7.30pm local time). The frontman missed Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Zulte Waregem with a bruised foot.

Irish keeper Shane Supple has been handed the number one shirt for 2006/07. Owen Garvan has taken over manager Jim Magilton's old number seven for the season ahead.
