Town midfielder Jim Magilton is to undergo operations on both legs in the summer to rid him of possibly career threatening injury problems. The Northern Irishman has had injury problems all season and now the full extent of these is coming to light.

Town's various internationals will be hoping that they get places in their sides this weekend with the U21 games up first this evening. Sean Friars is set to captain the Northern Ireland side while Titus Bramble is likley to get a recall to the England equivalent.

Town striker Neil Midgley has left to join Barnet on a free transfer. The striker had made little impression this season and becomes the first of the out of contract players speculated upon this morning to go.

Norwich fans will be aghast to discover that one of their all-time heroes is backing Town for the Champions' League. Darren Eadie has expressed his admiration and respect for Town and has wished the Blues the best of luck in their bid for Europe's biggest competition.

Further to the previous links other sources are reporting that Town are to launch a £1.5 million bid for Manchester City's Mark Kennedy. We've apparently watched him twice in the reserves recently and want to make him the attacking midfielder we've been after for so long.

Marcus Stewart has signed an extension to his Town contract which will keep him at Portman Road for another year beyond his existing deal. The Town top scorer will now remain at Portman Road until 2005 when he will be 32.

Town manager George Burley has said that Marcus Stewart will go straight back into the line-up for tomorrow's game at West Ham. Stewart has missed the last three matches after receiving a suspension for his red card against Leeds.
