Grant Leadbitter’s second half penalty was enough to give the Blues a 1-0 Carling Cup quarter-final victory over West Brom at Portman Road and send Town into the semi-finals for the first time in a decade. It could have been a more comfortable victory with the Blues missing a number of other chances and having a first half penalty turned down.

Town boss Roy Keane says his players will be hurting after Sunday’s derby defeat to Norwich and will have to be at their best to beat West Brom in tonight’s Carling Cup quarter-final at Portman Road. The Blues are without virtually an entire team due to injury, suspension and ineligibility for this evening's match, which will definitely be going ahead despite the snowy weather.

A Grant Holt hat-trick condemned 10-man Town to a disastrous 4-1 defeat to Norwich at Carrow Road. Holt appeared to handle the ball in the run-up to the opening goal, but Town struck back through Delaney soon after. Holt added his second before Delaney was red-carded for hauling down the Norwich skipper, then after the break Holt netted his third and sub Wes Hoolahan completed the scoring.
