Two goals from Andy Keogh and one from former Blue Liam Trotter saw Millwall to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Town in Portman Road’s final game of the season. Keogh put the Lions ahead after three minutes, old boy Trotter added the second just after the hour mark, then, after Grant Leadbitter had had a penalty saved, Keogh netted the third late on.

David Nugent scored his usual goal at Portman Road as Leicester came from a goal behind to beat the Blues 2-1 and inflict their first home defeat since January 2nd. Jason Scotland put the Blues deservedly in front in the 43rd minute but soon after Ben Marshall’s freekick went through both wall and Arran Lee-Barrett with Nugent heading in the winner in a second half dominated by the visitors.

Both sides hit the post in the second half as Town and Derby played out a 0-0 draw at Pride Park. Ben Davies struck the woodwork for the Rams, then Jay Emmanuel-Thomas did the same for the Blues a few minutes later.

The likes of Tommy Smith, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Andy Drury, older but inexperienced in the Championship, have been keeping senior players such as Ibrahima Sonko, Lee Bowyer and, prior to his suspension, Jimmy Bullard on the bench.

Goals from Michael Chopra, Tommy Smith and Andy Drury saw the Blues to a very comfortable 3-0 home victory over Bristol City. Chopra nodded in his 13th of the season from a Lee Martin cross in the 25th minute, Smith powered home a Drury corner on 66 with the midfielder lashing home the third with five minutes remaining.

Chief executive Simon Clegg has revealed that Town's move to sign Portsmouth trio Jason Pearce, Joel Ward and Stephen Henderson (pictured) is still “a live issue”. On the final day of the January transfer window, the Blues had offers for keeper Henderson and midfielder or defender Ward accepted, the deals breaking down due to the players’ wage demands, while Pompey rebuffed bids from Town and others for centre-half Pearce.

Town boss Paul Jewell says he expects the Financial Fair Play rules which come into force next season to lead to wages dropping at Championship level. The rules, the details of which are still to be finalised, will see wage bills fall across the division with clubs forced to live within their means rather than build up debts as they speculate in order to reach the riches of the Premier League.

Michael Chopra’s 13th minute goal saw the Blues to three wins on the trot for the first time this season as they left Portsmouth with a 1-0 victory. Town started strongly and were deservedly up at the break and had plenty of chances to add to their lead in both halves.
