Martijn Reuser is Joe Royle's only new injury worry ahead of Saturday's visit to Gillingham. The Dutchman has missed training on Thursday due to a blow to his foot sustained in the Reading game which he aggravated during the 2-2 draw with Brighton.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks has said he has undergone a "horrible few days" while the transfers of Darren Ambrose and Hermann Hreidarsson have been in process. The chairman also feels that Newcastle have got themselves a incredible bargain in signing Ambrose for only £1 million.

Town will rue the failure to take several first half chances and a second half missed Darren Bent penalty as Brighton took a point back to Sussex. Town manager Joe Royle is hoping that Tommy Miller and Darren Ambrose will be back in contention ahead of Saturday's home clash with Brighton and Hove Albion. The pair are due to be back in full training on Friday.

Town captain Matt Holland appears to be the most likely Blues' player to be on his way before the Premier League's transfer deadline under the ‘clubs in distress' rule is up on Friday evening. Holland has been watched for some while by Charlton boss Alan Curbishley, however, according to Joe Royle, no bid has yet come in.

Town kept their play-off hopes well and truly alive with a deserved 1-0 win against struggling Sheffield Wednesday. The Blues went ahead through skipper Matt Holland in the 16th minute and could have added to their lead, particularly in the first half.

Joe Royle will have to wait on the fitness of a number of his players before naming the side which faces Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday. A number of players missed Thursday training, although it is hoped several may be OK by the weekend.
