Boss Joe Royle has the rare luxury of being able to field an unchanged side when the Blues travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Tuesday night (KO 7.45pm). The Town squad stayed in the North after Saturday's 2-0 win at Leeds and have been training at Unibond League club Radcliffe Borough.

Midfielder Tommy Miller looks set to miss the live Sky game at Sunderland on Sunday (Sky Sports One, KO 1pm), although the Blues will leave it until as late as possible before completely ruling him out. Miller picked up an elbow injury in the 1-0 win over Leeds last Saturday.

A young Town reserves side fell to a 4-1 defeat at home to a very impressive Arsenal second string. The Blues went ahead through Nabil Abidallah in the third minute but the Gunners were largely in control thereafter.

Town came from two goals behind to get their pre- season off to a 4-2 winning start at Roots Hall against Southend United. As promised manager Joe Royle fielded two completely different sides in each half, only keeper Lewis Price on the field the whole time.

Town skipper Matt Holland scored with what could be his last touch for the Blues to complete a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Derby at Pride Park. The season looked to be coming to a disappointing end when a deflected Rob Lee cross put Derby ahead but goals from Couñago, Darren Bent, Magilton and late on Holland gave the three points to the Blues.
