Holland suffered an ankle injury in the Worthington Cup match with Coventry, but will make his usual huge effort to be fit, although there are no reports so far of any trips to the healing fountains of Brightlingsea. Burley Denies More Rumours Mon 31st Jul 2000 11:13
Town manager George Burley has denied press reportes that he has made a £1 million offer for Colchester's Lomano Tresor Lua-Lua. He has also refuted stories linking him with Rosenborg midfielder Orjan Berg. Town fans are increasingly worried at the lack of movement on the transfer front, although George Burley has said he is anxious to spend some of his kitty, rumoured in some places to be £6 million, although it could possibly be even more. Certainly Richard Wright committing himself to the club means that nothing will have to be spent on a new keeper. The manager has said, however, that he will only spend on the correct players for the team, not just spend for the sake of it.
