Former Town keeper Matteo Sereni is not included in the Lazio squad for tonight's friendly at Portman Road. The match is one of two arranged as part of the deal which took the former Sampdoria man to Rome in 2003.

Town are close to signing Manchester United central defender Paul McShane on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old Irishman faced the Blues twice last season while on a similar spell with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Striker Sam Parkin is back in the starting line-up for Town's final game of the pre-season tour at FC Dordrecht this evening (KO 7.30pm local time). The frontman missed Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Zulte Waregem with a bruised foot.

Town's second pre-season tour game against Zulte Waregem ended with the same outcome as the first, a 1-1 draw. Ian Westlake netted for the Blues just before half-time, the home side grabbing a controversial equaliser after the break.

Nicky Forster scored his sixth goal in his last six games and Sito netted his first for the Blues as Town defeated Galway United 2-0 at their Terryland Park ground. Both goals came in the first half of a comfortable first win under Jim Magilton's management.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks was re-elected to the Football League board at a meeting on Friday. Sheepshanks will represent Championship clubs along with Norwich City chief executive Neil Doncaster and Hull City chairman Adam Pearson.

Former Norwich City coach Steve Foley is in talks with Town and looks set to be the first addition to Jim Magilton's backroom staff. Foley, a former Colchester United player, had his Canaries contract settled last month as they sought to make changes after their poor season.
