Tie Still Moving Tue 16th Jan 2001 09:24 It seems likely that Birmingham City will issue a press release this morning confirming that Town's Worthington Cup semi-final second leg will be moved to Tuesday January 23rd. The row between Birmingham City and the police has rumbled on for a few weeks now, but today should see its culmination with all sides meeting to resolve the matter. |

Sing on Five Live! Thu 14th Dec 2000 14:57 TWTD has been asked by Radio Five Live to gather Town fans together for a bit of a sing before Saturday’s game with Southampton. Five Live want to hear about this tractor thing that everybody is talking about as well as wanting to hear us have a warble. We figured the best place for this (as well as almost everything else) was a pub so please feel free to come along to Mannings’ (on the Cornhill) for 12 noon Saturday and join the throng. Or just drink yourself daft. |
Ipswich 2 - 1 Coventry Tue 28th Nov 2000 22:19 A second half David Johnson goal gave Town a victory in an understated Worthington Cup fourth round tie at Portman Road. Town took the lead early through Titus Bramble shot, but a Craig Bellamy penalty levelled after half-time. |
Man City 2-3 Town Sat 25th Nov 2000 18:29 Town made heavy weather of what should have been an easy victory over Manchester City. The Blues went three up inside an hour, but allowed the up to then thoroughly poor City side get back into it with two late goals. |
Town 2 - 1 Middlesbrough Sat 28th Oct 2000 17:31 Town registered their second home League win of the season with a sometimes brilliant and occasionally frustrating performance. First half goals from Richard Naylor and Mark Venus put Town two-up with a deflected Dean Gordon freekick giving fans the usual nailbiting end to the game. |
Town 1 - 1 West Ham Sat 14th Oct 2000 17:36 Town will count this 1-1 draw as points dropped rather than a point won. The Blues missed chance after chance as they largely outplayed West Ham United in a game where Town played most of the football and the Londoners showed a more physical side to their game. A very poor performance by referee Neale Barry aided their approach. |

Naylor is Back!!! Wed 13th Sep 2000 21:50 Substitute Richard Naylor returned after his injury and was central to Town's reserves gaining a 4-2 victory over Wimbledon at Portman Road this evening. |
Town 1 - 2 Aston Villa Sat 09th Sep 2000 17:52 Town fell to their second 2-1 defeat in a week as they were once again made to pay for defensive errors. A first half goal from Lee Hendrie put Villa ahead and a second half header from Dion Dublin had seemingly settled the game. However, a spirited fightback by the Blues in the latter stages saw Marcus Stewart notch his first of the season. |
