Keepers Latest Tue 14th Aug 2001 12:35
All Town talk now seems completely centred on goalkeepers with George Burley denying any interest in yesterday's tabloid link Shaka Hislop. Meanwhile Burley has not ruled out another bid for Mart Poom contrary to earlier claims and is making no comment on Matteo Sereni.

Robson Doesn't Rule Out Return Thu 12th Apr 2001 10:09
Town legend Bobby Robson is not ruling out returning to Town in some capacity when he leaves Newcastle United. Blues fans have long hoped that the man who guided us to FA and UEFA Cup glory would return, perhaps as a director of football.
Johnson Accepts Dropping Fri 15th Sep 2000 11:14
Town striker David Johnson has reacted calmly to the news that he will start Saturday's game at Leeds from the bench. The £1.1 millon signing said: "I was poor last Saturday. I was really disappointed at my performance, so in the back of my mind I thought it might happen. I'm disappointed I have not scored in the opening few games but I'm more than pleased with the way I have handled being in the Premiership and I feel I started in good form but it is that first goal which I need."
Naysmith Signing Imminent Wed 09th Aug 2000 19:38
Scotland's Young PLayer of the Year Gary Naysmith looks the favourite to be Town's next signing. The 21-year-old defender, currently with Hearts, has been watched by George Burley for some time and may well join Town before the weekend. He is thought to be worth around the £3 million mark. Hearts are cash-strapped and may be in a position where they have to sell several of their better players. Town have also been linked with their midfielder Colin Cameron. If Town do sign Naysmith it could bring to an end any hope that Town would re-sign Mauricio Taricco as reported yesterday. The Argentinian would fetch around the same figure as Naysmith and plays the same position. George Burley saw Taricco come on as a sub for Spurs at Peterborough last night, although the Town manager emphasised that his role there was to watch Spurs, Town's first opponents, rather than any specific player.
